Written plainly, without the usual template. I wrote this one myself.

Who I am

Tokyo Light Journal is an independent photo journal written by Jonas Lindqvist in Tokyo. It is not affiliated with any museum, gallery, art collective or commercial partner. There is no company behind this site.

What I collect

Very little. Specifically:

• Contact form. If you write in via the contact page, I read your name, e-mail and message so I can reply. That is all. I do not add you to any list.
• Server access logs. Like any web server, mine records the IP addresses and request paths of visitors for a short window, purely for security and troubleshooting. These are not shared with anyone and are rotated automatically.
• One strictly necessary session cookie. See the cookies page.

What I don’t do

• No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no TikTok pixel, no Hotjar, no Clarity, no Sentry, no ad remarketing.
• No selling of tickets, no processing of payments, no credit-card handling. There is no checkout on this site and never will be.
• No newsletter, no marketing e-mails, no forwarding of your address to anyone.
• No sponsored posts, no affiliate links, no paid recommendations.

If you came from an advertisement

Occasionally people arrive here after seeing an online advertisement that mentioned a Tokyo art space or a museum ticket. That advertisement is not mine. I don’t advertise this journal and I don’t sell tickets. If an ad has led you here expecting to buy a ticket, please leave this page and use the operator’s own official website instead — that is the only correct way to book. Nothing on this site will take a card payment.

If you clicked something suspicious and reached this page as a result, I’d be genuinely grateful if you dropped me a short note via the contact page with what you clicked, so I can pass it on to the platforms concerned.

How long I keep things

Server logs are rotated on a rolling basis, typically within thirty days. Contact-form messages live in a personal inbox for as long as I might reasonably need to remember the thread. You can ask me to delete anything relating to you at any time by writing to [email protected].

Your rights

Under Japanese privacy law (APPI) and the equivalents in your home jurisdiction, you have the right to know what personal information I hold about you, to correct it, and to ask me to delete it. Because I collect very little, this is usually a short conversation.

Children

The journal is written for adults thinking about a Tokyo visit or interested in the photography. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If I change how any of this works, I update this page and change the “last updated” date. There is no mailing list to notify because there isn’t one.
